What this site covers

Maple Journal publishes practical, season-specific travel guides for Canadian provinces. The content focuses on road trips, national and provincial parks, scenic highways, and specific destinations that are worth understanding before arrival.

Canada's ten provinces and three territories span six time zones and an enormous range of climates. What is accessible in July may be unreachable in November. Guides here are organized to reflect that, noting optimal windows, road conditions, park reservation requirements, and regional logistics.

Editorial approach

Guides describe destinations as they are, not as tourism materials tend to present them. Entry fees, permit requirements, campground booking timelines, and weather patterns are included where relevant. Routes are described with reference to actual road numbers and distances.

All external references are to publicly available government, Parks Canada, or provincial tourism authority sources. No affiliate links are used.

Sources

Primary sources used across guides include:

  • Parks Canada — national park entry fees, campground reservations, road conditions
  • Natural Resources Canada — topographic and regional data
  • Provincial ministries of transport for road condition updates
  • Environment and Climate Change Canada for seasonal weather patterns
